Miller, Simmons, and Thoms named to the prestigious 2021 Class of 40 Under 40

Each year, the UGA Alumni Association recognizes 40 individuals under the age of 40 for their personal, professional and philanthropic achievements through the 40 Under 40 class. The Class of 2021 included three engaged members of the local community.
Anna Wrigley Miller (AB ’14) is the General Government Division Manager in the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget. Among a long list of accomplishments since her graduation from the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences, Miller is being recognized for her extraordinary effort during the 2020 Census to encourage participation from Georgians.
Cara Winston Simmons (AB ’03, MED ’07, PHD ‘18) is a proud Triple Dawg graduate of the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences and the Mary Frances Early College of Education. She is the director of the Student Success and Advising Center in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences and adjunct faculty at the University of Georgia. Simmons has an exemplary record of excellence in diversity and inclusion, including several local and statewide board seats and numerous awards.
Brittany Thoms (ABJ ’04) is the President and Co-Founder of See.Spark.Go, a public relations, communications, social media, and digital marketing firm that allows Thoms to leverage her time spent in the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Thoms is also a philanthropist who dedicates her time to serve the Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research, Extra Special People, Eagle Ranch, and several other local organizations in addition to serving as a mentor for current UGA students.
We are proud to honor these local alumni who apply their UGA education and training to engage in public service and work on the forefront of industry. The Athens area is enhanced by the involvement and dedication of these three community leaders.
